Regional Science Fairs 1999, 2000, 2001 |

Science was always my favorite subject at school period only. I loved
learning about new technologies and studying the work of past geniuses.
Yet my courses at school never challenged me enough to satisfy my
mind. I needed to explore beyond the basics. The Science Fairs provided
me with the opportunity to do this. I did my first Science Fair project
in grade 8 and won a bronze medal at my school. From then onwards,
I strove harder for each fair with the goal of winning the gold medal.
Science Fairs quenched my thirst for knowledge. The most important
thing it taught me was that with determination, I could aim higher
and attain my goals. With this encouragement, I won gold at the 2001
Canada-wide Science Fair.
These competitions give me the chance to meet ambitious young scientists.
There is so much to know in science, and Science Fairs is the place
where I can learn about the latest news in science. It gives me pride
to explain the complex experiments that I designed and conducted to
fellow researchers. Another significant aspect of Science Fairs that
I love is that it makes learning fun; I can explore the marvels of
science as well as enjoy my experience at the fair. There are so many
exciting activities, both educational and social, at the Science Fairs.
Science Fairs have become a valuable part of my education - it has
not only been a source of enlightenment, but also preparation for
my future career.
